Stephen Curry has broken Ray Allen's record in the all-time 3-points list, and so the NBA legend is now officially passing the torch to the Golden State Warriors star.

After Curry surpassed his mark for the most triples in NBA history, Allen took to Instagram to congratulate the Warriors guard. He also expressed his joy that the torch–which he held for about a decade–is now in great hands.

“The torch has been passed and it is in good hands! Congratulations to [Stephen Curry, Dell Curry] and the whole Curry family!” Allen wrote alongside the photo of him hugging Steph right after the sharpshooter broke the 3-point record.

Stephen Curry needed just two triples against the New York Knicks to surpass the 2973 triples Ray Allen made during his NBA career, and he did not waste any time doing so. Right in the first quarter of the contest, Chef Curry went cooking and broke the record in just three attempts.

Allen was in attendance and witnessed Curry break his record. After which, the two shared a moment as the Warriors leader made sure to honor the guy who paved the way for marksmen like him.

It was undoubtedly a special moment that Curry and Allen will remember. As Allen said it, there's no better player to carry the torch for sharpshooters in the league than Steph himself–who is largely considered the GOAT shooter.
