The 2020 NBA Finals, which featured the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat, was the first championship series in five years that did not have the Golden State Warriors. Understandably, three-time champion Stephen Curry found the finals difficult to sit through.

However, Steph's love for the game trumped his apprehensions.

Curry joined Jeff Neubarth on the “Callaway Gold Podcast” where he opened up about the 2020 NBA Finals and how he initially found it difficult to watch but eventually did.

“It was hard to watch, but I did,” the Warriors sharpshooter shared, per NBC Sports.

For Stephen Curry, not being in the NBA Finals brought out all sorts of feelings. Not only did it fuel his competitive fire, but the games also served as a way to scout his opponents. More importantly, he got his basketball fix.

“It's a little bit of everything,” Curry added. “It's me missing the game and just being a fan of the game and just wanting to watch good basketball. It is a little scouting, in terms of what we need to go into next year to get back to being one of those two teams playing in the Finals. It's a little nostalgia, too. We went five years in a row and I know the backdrop in Orlando was different, but it's still the NBA Finals.

“And any basketball junkie, whether you're a player or a fan, tuning into that, it's good basketball and it kinda gets you going.”

Many expect the Warriors to return back to title contention in the 2020-21 season. Although Klay Thompson will be out due to an Achilles injury, expect the Dubs rack up the wins once again.

Aside from Curry and Draymond Green, the Warriors also reloaded with the trade for Kelly Oubre Jr. and the selection of James Wiseman in the 2020 NBA Draft.
