When Kevin Durant originally got hurt in Game 5 of the Golden State Warriors' second-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets last month, some wondered if Durant's injury was seriously the calf strain that was reported.

There was some speculation that Durant had injured his Achilles, and on Monday night, that speculation resurfaced, as Durant ended up suffering an Achilles injury in his return to the court in Game 5 of the NBA Finals aginst the Toronto Raptors.

Afterward, Warriors general manager Bob Myers said that the initial injury was, in fact, a calf issue and that the Achilles injury that Durant suffered on Monday evening was a separate incident.

Count Fox Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe among those who isn't buying that notion, as he thinks Durant had an Achilles injury all along:

Whether or not Sharpe is right is up for debate and may never be truly known, but regardless of whether or not the truth ever actually surfaces, there will always be some who wonder whether or not the Warriors acted in good faith by allowing Durant to play in Game 5.

Durant, who missed Game 6 of the Dubs' series against the Rockets and was sidelined throughout the Warriors' entire four-game sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals, returned to basketball for the first time in over a month on Monday and looked great in the early going, scoring 11 points in the first quarter.

However, in the second period, Durant went to put a move on Serge Ibaka and then crumpled to the floor holding his right Achilles.
