In the first few days of free agency, the Golden State Warriors made the big-time acquisition of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins on a one-year, $5.3 million to add him to their already stacked roster.

This has immediately created a plethora of feedback about the move that could make the Warriors an even greater overwhelming favorite to win their third straight NBA title and fourth in the last five years.

Cousins' new teammate Shaun Livingston has voiced to Michael Scotto of the Athletic that he believes this will be a “win-win” situation on both sides.

This move has the potential of giving the Warriors a starting lineup of five bonafide All-Stars that simply no other team in the league could combat straight up. Prior to the injury, Cousins has proven to be one of the best big men in the league — one who is an elite scorer who has also shown to be a tremendous factor on the glass. His presence would finally give them a center who can be depended on to provide consistent production at a high level.

At the same time, this also provides Cousins the chance to show he can return to form as being an elite talent after tearing his Achilles tendon back in January. He is essentially banking on himself to prove that he is work a lucrative contract next July where he can be among some of the highest-paid players in the league.

DeMarcus Cousins is entering a situation where he could possibly earn his first NBA title while demonstrating that he's still one of the best centers in the NBA with eyes toward cashing in next summer.
