The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors point guard Shaun Livingston one game and referee Courtney Kirkland for one week without pay after the two clashed on Sunday night during a game with the Miami Heat, according to Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post.

Kirkland and Livingston got in each other's noses after Livingston complained about two foul calls when operating in the high-post. The Warriors floor general was tossed with one technical at the 6:24 mark of the second quarter, making that the first ejection of his career.

Livingston was scheduled to sit out to rest during tonight's game against the New Orleans Pelicans either way, as head coach Steve Kerr is being mindful of his veterans' minutes, expecting another deep run into the playoffs.

This suspension won't cost the Warriors, as they had planned out the rest before, but it'll take a hefty $53,000 out of Livingston's pockets for the hassle, as Kirkland has been scratched off the referee rotations for this week, according to ESPN Insider Bobby Marks.

The league determined Kirkland moved toward Livingston and “shared responsibility for the contact that occurred,” per Mark Medina of the San Jose Mercury News.

The incident was a definite oddity, and the second night in a row in which a Warriors player had been ejected after arguing in favor of a foul call, as Kevin Durant was ejected while up 23 on the Orlando Magic on Friday.
