Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Steph Curry took a step closer towards owning the all-time leadership in career 3-pointers made in the playoffs when he passed former Indiana Pacers hotshot Reggie Miller on the list on Friday night.

When Curry hit his second trey of Friday night’s Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals series against the New Orleans Pelicans, he moved up on the list to fourth place.

Of relevant note: Teammate and sharpshooting colleague, Klay Thompson, moved up to 11th on Friday night.

Even more amazing perhaps was how quick Curry was able to knock down that many triples. Curry entered the game with 319 3-pointers in 76 playoff games played. Meanwhile, Reggie Miller buried all 320 of his in 144 postseason contests. Curry could have also overtaken Miller earlier if he did not sit out the Warriors’ first six games of the playoffs due to a knee issue.

As of this writing, Steph Curry has three 3-pointers in the game, meaning his total is now up to 322, three shy of surpassing San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili.

Ray Allen holds the all-time playoffs record but with Curry just 30 and with plenty of postseason games to look forward to in his career, it sounds like a foregone conclusion that he’ll one day stand on top of that list.

Back in the regular season, Curry buried an average of 4.2 3-pointers per game on 42.3 shooting percentage.
