Stephen Curry can nonchalantly drill a three-pointer from quite a range, but will he be as accurate in his prediction of the Carolina Panthers’ record he made way, way early in the NFL season?

Scott Fowler of The Charlotte Observer sat down with the Golden State Warriors spitfire guard just before the Panthers take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday and asked Curry of how he thinks Charlotte would end the regular season. Cam Newton and company sure would love how good they are in Curry’s eyes based on the latter’s answer.

“I’m going to say 12-4,” Curry said. “I hope that means a first-round bye in the playoffs.”

So far, Curry’s prediction is trending well, with the Panthers administering a 23-3 beatdown on the Niners on the road. Next week, the Panthers fly back home for their first home game of the season, as they look to go 2-0 when they take on the visiting Buffalo Bills.

If you ask Vegas though, the Panthers are hard-pressed to win as many as 12 games with most over/under wins lines for Carolina set at 9.0.
