Golden State Warriors fans hold their breath whenever point guard Stephen Curry lands funny on his ankle. It happened again Friday night.

Take a look at the sequence:

In the first quarter tonight against the Atlanta Hawks, Curry came down funny on his teammate Zaza Pachulia and went on to hop off the court.

This may seem ironic to most NBA fans given the reputation of Pachulia who infamously slid under San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard to injure his ankle in last year's playoffs and then more recently appeared to intentionally fall on Oklahoma City Thunder Russell Westbrook. These acts have led to a unanimous outburst around the league critical of Pachulia's perceived dirty play with his only support coming from teammates.

Of course, this was just an accident and it's only scarier than the typical ankle turn thanks to Curry's injury history. Curry's career potential was in question to a degree early on due to lingering ankle injuries that he couldn't seem to shake. Luckily he did and blossomed into a two-time MVP and two-time champion.

This injury may be minor but it's worth keeping a close eye on because it's Curry.

UPDATE: Steph Curry has returned from the locker room and will return to play in the game.
