After suffering a broken hand last season, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, one of the best shooters of all-time, is back and ready to lead the Warriors again. He is forging a story which will be talked about for decades, much as Wilt Chamberlain did as a Warrior.

Amassing a grand total of 16,439 points in his 12 seasons as a Warrior, Curry trails the one and only Wilt Chamberlain on the Warriors all-time scoring list. Chamberlain, the man who scored 100 points in a single game and two-time NBA champion, scored 17,783 points during his tenure as a Warrior. Curry, although more than 1,000 points away from taking Chamberlain's place on the all-time list, unquestionably has the talent and drive to surpass Chamberlain in grand fashion.

To mention some of his other accomplishments, Curry, already a 3-time NBA champion, has a career average of 23.5 points a game while shooting 43.4% from downtown. Also, he is 3rd in the all-time 3 pointers made list, right behind Reggie Miller and Ray Allen.

Curry's loyalty to the Golden State Warriors is apparent, as the franchise provided the means for him to have a successful career. The inevitable day that Curry passes Chamberlain, adding yet another achievement to the list, it will reinforce the idea of Curry being one of the greatest point guards, leaders, and basketball players to ever step on the court.

With so much time already lost to injury and having to witness a demoralizing last place finish in the Western Conference last year, Curry will be a man on a mission this season to restore Golden State to its former glory.

The Warriors are starting their season against tough teams, and also on an Eastern Conference road swing. Without Klay Thompson, the early weeks of this NBA season figure to be especially rough for Steph and the Dubs. Given the shortened length of the season — 72 games instead of the normal 82 — Steve Kerr's team won't have quite as much time to round into form, but it remains that a much better gauge of this team will be its level of play in late January.
