In light of ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha, are raising money through the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation for Feeding America, which is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that feeds more than 46 million people by way of food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other community-based agencies.

The Warriors sharpshooter sent out a tweet on Thursday afternoon, imploring others to join in his cause. His goal is to ensure that no family or child goes hungry during the COVID-19 crisis:

“The effects of COVID-19 are being felt in many communities and its our responsibility to prevent hunger for those that need a helping hand,” Curry wrote in his tweet. “With @eatlearnplay, we are in the fight and hope you can join us in any way possible.”

Stephen and Ayesha have been an advocate for this sort of relief in the past. In fact, the couple previously helped out with local kids in Oakland, giving a generous donation to ensure that underprivileged children in the city will still have access to food amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Now, they're shifting their focus nationwide.

According to a Facebook page set up for Curry's relief fund, Lineage Logistics is matching all donations to this campaign.

Last week, the NBA decided to suspend the 2019-20 regular season in an attempt to limit the spread of the coronavirus. At this point, it's not clear when play might resume, though some reports indicate that the league is open to finishing this campaign in July or even August.

Stephen Curry returned to the Warriors for one game before getting sick and missing a few games. The season was then suspended before he could return again.
