The Golden State Warriors were able to take care of business with a win over the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 4 thanks to a stellar performance from shooting guard Klay Thompson. It appears point guard Stephen Curry knew full well that Thompson would be on his game.

Thompson was unable to make his presence felt through the first three games of the series. According to ESPN's Nick Friedell, Curry claims he knew his teammate was in store for a big game after he made a trip to the beach:

“I know the Pacific Ocean is undefeated. He got his feet wet [Saturday], walked in the hotel with a wet t-shirt, with his shades on. A typical Klay type of vibe. I just had a smile on my face when I saw him because I knew what that meant.”

Whether or not Curry knew Thompson was prepped for a dominant performance, there is no question that the beach trip helped him finally find his footing. He struggled to get a rhythm going to start the series. However, he came up big in Game 4 after dropping 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting. To no surprise, he did most of his damage from deep by going 6-for-9 from the three-point line.

Thompson is often the forgotten member of this star-studded Warriors squad. Regardless, he has shown time and time again that he is also the most prone to enjoying a breakout game at any moment. Golden State is hoping this game was just what Thompson needed to get his confidence back moving forward.
