The Golden State Warriors have raced out of the gate to a 13-2 start, the best record in the NBA. They've been led familiar faces, such as star guard Stephen Curry and forward Draymond Green, as well as by newer faces, such as Jordan Poole.

Having the best record in the NBA- and taking on a team with one of the worst records in the league, the Detroit Pistons, has its perks. The Warriors can, with all due respect to the Pistons, use Friday's game as a chance to rest Stephen Curry and other stars.

The Warriors listed each player with an injury, but this is clearly a strategic rest night planned out at the end of a long road trip, as noted by Warriors reporter Anthony Slater. If it were just Stephen Curry listed as out, or just Draymond Green, that would be one thing.

But practically the entire Warriors' frontcourt didn't just suddenly get injured. From the perspective of a Pistons fan, the underachieving squad might have a chance at winning a game that was probably tentatively marked on the calendar as a loss.

For the Warriors, fans should expect Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Otto Porter to return for the team's next contest scheduled for Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. It's nice to see the quartet get some time off the court, especially Curry, who had played 35-plus minutes in two of his last three games.

It should be all systems go for Curry and the Dubs on Sunday.
