Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry erupted for 49 points and cashed in 11 3-pointers in their 136-97 thrashing of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Curry notched his 20th 30-point outing since the All-Star break, a feat not done by any NBA player since Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant did so, having 22 such games during his epic 2005-06 campaign.

In addition, Saturday was Curry's 4th game with 11 triples, which is by far the most in a season in league history.

The 2-time NBA MVP poured in his 49-piece in just 29 minutes for the Warriors, which, as noted above, is the second-best scoring night of his career through just three quarters of play.

Curry had it going from the get go. Entering the game, he needed 22 points to keep his lead on the scoring title race over Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, who poured in 50 points in their win over the Indiana Pacers earlier on Saturday. Curry needed just 12 minutes to cover that as he dropped 24 points in the opening period alone.

After scoring just one triple in the second quarter, the 7-time All-Star continued his onslaught in the third quarter. He dropped triple after triple, including a number of ridiculously deep ones that sent the Chase Center crowd showering the Warriors superstar with MVP chants.

Stephen Curry is playing on an absolute different level right now as he continues to lead the Warriors to a possible postseason berth. With the Dubs currently holding down the no. 8 spot and likely headed into the play-in tournament, no team would want to see a scorching Curry on the opposite side.
