Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors will have a rough flight back to the Bay Area on Sunday after they put up a disappointing effort against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Warriors couldn't get it going and have been on a rough stretch over these past few weeks. Sure enough, it has been pretty challenging for the two-time league MVP.

“We were really looking forward to bouncing back tonight and it didn't happen. [It's] frustrating for a lot of reasons,” Curry said after the Dubs' 117-111 loss in Atlanta, via Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “It sucks right now. Losing sucks. It's a terrible feeling,”

The Warriors have now lost seven of their last eight games, including three straight on the road. Curry, for his part, has been carrying his squad with 30-point explosions, but it has simply been insufficient for Golden State as they continue to spiral out the Western Conference playoff picture.

Per Stephen Curry, it is quite an important stretch for his young squad. The Warriors will need to bounce back ASAP if they want to secure a spot in the postseason, and their leader is hoping that this recent slump motivates the entire Dub Nation to finish the season strong.

“It's tough. To keep it real, we all had higher expectations for where we were supposed to be this season,” Curry added. “I hope it stings. I hope it's uncomfortable. I hope it motivates you to keep grinding [and] challenging yourself to get better. I hope nobody is content with being in this middle-of-the-road situation. We're gonna find out how we respond down the stretch of the season. We'll see what we're made of.”
