Stephen Curry is an avid golfer and the Golden State Warriors star is looking to bring PGA Golf to the Bay Area next year. According to Josh Sens and Joe Passov of Golf.com, Curry wants to one day host a PGA Tour event in the Bay Area and it looks like the feeling is mutual.

Sens and Passov write:

A source familiar with talks around the deal told GOLF.com that Curry, his representatives and the Tour have zeroed in on a venue: the newly renovated South Course at Chuck Corica Golf Complex in Alameda, an island city neighboring Oakland, just across the bay from San Francisco.

There's speculation that this tournament could take place in early October of next year, but it is still too early to know too many details about the event.

Curry is a great ambassador for the game of golf. He's one of the brightest stars in basketball who could potentially bring a new following with him to the game. Furthermore, he's a pretty good golfer in his own right.

Although he didn't play as well as he would have liked to in the second round of the Ellie Mae Classic this year, he posted a 71 for his first-round score. That's pretty impressive. The Ellie Mae Classic is a tournament on the Web.com tour.

Curry's love of golf is well-documented and it appears he will soon host a PGA Tour event soon.
