The Golden State Warriors have made making the NBA Finals look easy. But Stephen Curry knows the long journey they took to get back to the mountaintop.

Golden State is heading towards their sixth NBA Finals trip in the last eight seasons. The two years in between, a brief hiatus for some teams, felt like an eternity for Steph Curry and co. who had made five in a row prior to that.

The Warriors star spoke out on just how “sweet” it is to be back in a seven game series for the NBA's most coveted prize.

Via The Athletic:

“This one is very sweet just because of where we were in 2019,” Curry said of the Warriors making the NBA Finals again. “We never lost faith, but you understand how hard of a process it was going to be to climb that mountain again. … I think internally we are all extremely proud of what it took to get back here.”

“Yeah, it’s definitely sweet based on what we went through.”

Both Curry and Draymond Green dealt with various injuries throughout that span. Klay Thompson was out entirely for two whole seasons. The team brought in an infusion of youth and some veterans, old and new. It was a long, winding road for for the Golden State Warriors and they earned their way back.
