In what has been one of the most anticipated moments in recent memory, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will once again have to wait a few more hours to set the new NBA record for career three-pointers made.

Curry “only” made five three-pointers against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, falling two short of surpassing NBA legend Ray Allen. The Warriors sniper attempted 15 shots from beyond the arc, which showed he was looking to finally achieve the milestone and get it over with.

Despite falling short, the two-time MVP said he's just soaking everything in, including the dire eagerness of fans to witness history (via ESPN).

“I'm enjoying the moment, knocking on the doorstep. It's pretty surreal. You just keep playing basketball, taking shots you think you can make, and enjoy the experience.”

Curry now has had three chances to set the new NBA three-point feat, but he failed to do so, most notably in their last game against the Philadelphia 76ers where he was shackled by the leech-like defense of Matisse Thybulle.

But as everyone knows, it's just a matter of when for Curry. After all, what was more important was that the Warriors got the win over the Pacers, 102-100.

Now, Stephen Curry has an even grander chance to set the new NBA three-point record on Tuesday at the famed Madison Square Garden when the Warriors visit the New York Knicks.
