Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has broken the all-time record for 3-pointers in front of previous record holders Ray Allen and Reggie Miller. Curry broke Allen's record when he sunk the 2,947th 3-pointer of his career against the New York Knicks.

With 7 minutes and 33 seconds left in the first quarter, Curry knocked down a 28-foot shot to break the record in typical Steph fashion. Curry breaking the record was inevitable, and many reasonably expected him to do it against the Knicks. Previous holders of that title Allen and Miller were in attendance to witness history being made.

Allen reacted to Curry breaking his record by sending him and his family an emotional message on Twitter. However, Ray Allen and Reggie Miller also went one step further. The two legends presented the new 3-point king with a gift at the end of the game. As seen in the video, the gift was a special Warriors jersey with “Curry” and the number 2,974.

The surprise clearly delighted Curry. After Miller handed him the jersey, Curry also acknowledged the influence the two have had on his game growing up (via NBA on TNT):

“This is pretty special man. I've been thinking about this number for a long time. I even got it on my shoes, so basketball history. This is pretty special. Like I said, these two legends. I watched them growing up, and I understood what it meant to shoot the ball because of them and my dad. And it's a full circle moment man. I'm blessed.”

Stephen Curry doesn't stop here, and he will definitely hope to build on his record when the Warriors play the Boston Celtics next.
