Many have honored Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant in unique fashion, and Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is the latest to do so.

The Warriors star is remembering Kobe and Gianna Bryant with a pair of customized shoes that he put some personal touch on.

Stephen Curry is set to wear the shoes on Wednesday in the Warriors' game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tributes poured in for Kobe in the first anniversary of his death on Tuesday (Jan. 26), and Steph is continuing the celebration of his life and legacy..

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid also rocked a pair of custom shoes on Wednesday as his team faced the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe's former team where he spent his entire NBA career.

While many former athletes and friends shared anecdotes and stories of the Lakers legend, Curry said he recalls having to guard Kobe his rookie season with the Warriors. Sure enough, as Steph detailed it, it was a “crazy” day for him.

For Curry, as well as many of the NBA players past and present, Kobe was his idol growing up. Curry said the shoes are his way of honoring Kobe, as the Warriors sharpshooter is also a “Girl Dad.”

The NBA and the world still mourn the tragedy that was Kobe's death, but the Black Mamba's name will go down in history as one of the greatest the game has ever seen and will be remembered forever among basketball lore.
