Speaking as a panelist at TechCrunch Disrupt on Wednesday night in San Francisco, Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry talked about why he's so interested in investing in startups.

Curry says every NBA player should think about what they're going to do after their playing career is over. The two-time MVP told the crowd in San Francisco he would like to play around another six years in the league before calling it quits and embarking on the next chapter of his life:

“Being in the NBA, this is a very short period of my life — from 21 so hopefully I can play for like another six years,” Curry said, via NBC Sports Bay Area. “And then you think about what you want to do the rest of your life. And we're hopefully setting up the groundwork and the framework for success in this space and doing it our way.

“Really enjoying the ride and I've been fortunate to have a great team behind me that's on this journey with me.”

Stephen Curry has been in the NBA since 2009. He has spent his entire career with the Warriors and will almost certainly retire with the franchise.

A three-time champion, Curry has career averages of 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists with the Warriors while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 43.6 percent from beyond the arc and 90.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Curry is the greatest shooter of all time and will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day.
