Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry took a few steps back on Monday night to a shot-hoisting Klay Thompson, who attempted a season-high 15 long-distance shots against the top-seeded Houston Rockets during a 119-106 win, which lead to a 1-0 series lead to steal home court.

The two-time MVP took a back seat to his fellow Splash Brother but didn't hesitate to note he had taken away some of his long-range opportunities.

“He stole like 10 of my threes. And I want them back,” said Curry jokingly after the game, according to Melissa Rohlin of the San Jose Mercury News.

Thompson's 3-point barrage was a direct by-product of the high pace that the Warriors had pushed throughout the entire night. Even Kevin Durant, who logged a game-high 27 shot attempts and went off for 37 huge points, teed up six attempts from deep, more than Curry did during a 1-of-5 outing from beyond the arc.

Curry, Durant, and Thompson will all likely take turns tormenting the Rockets' defense as this series matures, well-aware of keeping up with the West leaders' vaunted offensive firepower in a must-win Game 2 for the hosts.

The three shooting stars combined for 83 points on the night, spelling a long night for a line of Rockets defenders that were turned into mere spectators.
