On Thursday night, Golden State Warriors big man Andrew Bogut returned to Oracle Arena for the first time since signing back with the club, receiving a rousing standing ovation from those in attendance.

Stephen Curry is thrilled to have Bogut back:

“Since he showed up and put the uniform back on, it’s just been amazing to see,” Curry said after the Warriors’ victory over the Indiana Pacers in Bogut’s return to the Bay, according to Tim Kawakami of The Athletic. “Just a cool vibe in terms of — a lot’s happened since he left and a lot happened those three or four years when we were trying to make that first championship run. So it’s kind of blending a little bit of old with the new.”

Curry added that Bogut will always be welcome in Golden State:

“He’s welcomed back with open arms,” Curry said. “It was a lot of Warrior history winning that first championship and just what he meant in terms of the new regime from the time they booed Joe to winning the championship. So definitely nice for him to get back in front of Dub Nation and the fans here at home. Well deserved.”

Thompson shared Steph's sentiments and is looking forward to what the big Aussie will bring to the table:

“I’m happy for him, very happy,” said Thompson. “He’s going to add so much toughness and moxie to our team. What a great fit for us. It was like second nature to him. He deserved that ovation. I’m really happy that the fans gave him that due because he’s a huge part of why we won our first championship. He was an anchor in the middle and he’ll do the same in this playoff run for us.”

Bogut has appeared in three games with the Warriors this season, averaging 4.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 13.7 minutes per game. While the veteran will play limited minutes, his presence is already being felt and he'll be important the rest of the way.
