Earlier this week, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant opened up about his time with the Golden State Warriors, saying that the local media were relentless in “kissing Stephen Curry's ass.” This led to some speculation about how Curry's loved-by-all image might have been one of the reasons behind Durant's decision to jump ship last summer.

Dubs head coach Steve Kerr weighed in on the situation, making it clear that in his mind, he does not believe this nasty rumor to be true at all.

“I just think that Kevin accomplished here, everything he set out to,” Kerr explained in a radio interview on 95.7 The Game. “He reached the point in his career where he wanted something different. Simple as that.”

Kerr did admit, however, that much like any other team in the NBA, this side went through their own ups and downs.

“Yeah, there were details in there and then some drama and all that but that’s just life,” he added.

It's been almost a year since the Warriors parted ways with Durant, but to this day, we are still questioning his motivation behind the scenes. It's hard not to do so when the former Finals MVP himself releases a controversial statement (or two) about his former team.

Durant has missed the entirety of the 2019-20 campaign due to an Achilles injury. However, the prolonged delay of the season brought about by the coronavirus pandemic has given him an odd chance of actually suiting up should the season resume.
