The Golden State Warriors logged another victory on Sunday, narrowly defeating the Toronto Raptors, 106-105. After a furious run over the past couple of games, Dubs superstar Stephen Curry finally fell back down to earth against Toronto in what turned out to be a career-worst 2-of-16 shooting night for the former back-to-back MVP.

After the game, Curry was asked to provide his thoughts on his atrocious shooting night, to which the 31-year-old provided a staightforward response:

“Well, I never thought I'd go 2-of-16,” Curry said with a grin, via Nick Friedell of ESPN. “So I never even thought about that.”

This would have sounded extremely cocky and overly ambitious coming from any other player, but this is the great Stephen Curry we're talking about here. The Warriors star is considered by many as the greatest shooter of all time, so for him to go 2-of-16 from the floor and 1-of-10 from distance is unheard of. Until now.

Nevertheless, Curry still saw the silver lining in what was a memorable night for him for all the wrong reasons:

“It means obviously we're moving in the right direction,” Curry said. “My offense, I expect it to be there every night. And obviously, with how teams are defending night to night, being able to figure that out, but in terms of us just having confidence across the board no matter who's out there on the floor, I think where we're at right now in terms of guys stepping up, us staying within ourselves, finding different ways to execute on that end of the floor. But we don't win a game like this … without our defense, taking strides in the right direction. We all understood that tonight and definitely that won us the game with how ugly that second half was on the offensive end.”

It was indeed a team effort for the Warriors on Sunday, with seven players scoring in double figures against Toronto. After a slow start to the campaign, the Warriors are now building some momentum with a 6-4 record.
