Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors will take on Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets to open the 2020-21 season on Dec. 22. The game will take place in Brooklyn at Barclays Center.

Curry, who won two championships in 2017 and 2018 with Durant on the Warriors, is looking forward to facing his old teammate on opening night.

That Warriors-Nets game will feature a lot of star power. It pits Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and rookie James Wiseman against Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie.

Curry only played in five games last season. He suffered a broken hand in the fourth game of the season against the Phoenix Suns and needed two surgeries to address the injury. The Warriors finished with the worst record in the NBA in 2019-20 before the season was suspended in March due to COVID-19.

Durant, meanwhile, missed the entire 2019-20 campaign. The two-time Finals MVP with the Warriors was recovering from the Achilles tear he suffered in Game 6 of the 2019 Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

The Nets are expected to be title contenders this season with Durant and Irving leading the way. The Warriors, meanwhile, will be back in the playoffs but won't contend for a title since All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson will miss his second consecutive season after tearing his right Achilles while playing in a pick-up game in Los Angeles.
