Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry knows how difficult it is to win the closeout game of a championship series, which is why he’s in pure admiration of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Greek Freak certainly saved his best for last, putting on a historic performance in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to win the Larry O’Brien trophy over the Phoenix Suns. Antetokounmpo finished with 50 points and 14 rebounds on 16-of-25 shooting to catapult the Bucks to a 105-98 win. It is also worth noting that Giannis recorded five blocks, two steals, and 17 free-throw makes out of 19 attempts!

Curry, who was glued to his TV like the rest of the NBA world, took to Twitter to share his reaction on Antetokounmpo’s remarkable performance. The Warriors sharpshooter highlighted how amazing it is to witness “greatness” unfold right before his eyes before congratulating the two-time NBA MVP and one-time Defensive Player of the Year for the championship.

While a lot has been said about the lack of appreciation and respect NBA players show to Giannis Antetokounmpo, the 26-year-old superstar really didn’t give anyone a choice but to turn their heads on him. He was hot right from the opening tip, doing his work on both ends of the floor.

Even though the Bucks struggled in the second quarter of Game 6, Antetokounmpo kept them afloat and even erupted for 20 points in the third quarter to tie the game at 77-all. He didn’t slow down one bit until the final buzzer sounded and the championship was secured.

Curry’s Warriors teammate Draymond Green even admitted he had the “chills” from just watching Antetokounmpo and the Bucks play Chris Paul and the Suns. Meanwhile, LeBron James and Kevin Durant acknowledged the new champs for fighting and working hard for the win.

As Stephen Curry said, what Giannis showed everyone is nothing short of greatness.
