SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors suffered an embarrassing defeat in overtime to the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night. The shorthanded Pacers went inside the Chase Center and left with a 121-117 victory despite Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis, Caris LeVert, Malcolm Brogdon, and T.J. McConnell all being out of the lineup.

The Warriors had a three-point lead late in the final quarter of regulation. Then Stephen Curry made a small, yet enormous, mistake.

“Holiday made a good cut and made a shot (game-tying 3). I know there's a conversation about should we have fouled. … I was a step slow and gave him too open of a look. We were trying to guard the inbounds and I got caught looking,” Curry told ClutchPoints.

The Warriors' record dropped to 32-13, while the Pacers improved to 17-29. It's the NBA and these are professional athletes, so anything can happen on a given night. But this was a game the Warriors should have easily won, even without Draymond Green.

This game wasn't decided by this one mess-up by Curry. The Warriors just didn't play good basketball all night long. Curry scored a game-high 39 points on 12-of-27 shooting from the field and 6-of-16 from deep. While those shooting numbers aren't great, they should be good enough to get a win against a depleted team.

But Curry got no help, with Thompson really struggling to the tune of 12 points on 6-of-17 shooting and 0-of-7 from 3. Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole also had rough nights, and non-Curry Warriors shot a woeful 3-of-26 from 3-point range.

The Warriors have a chance to redeem themselves at home on Friday night. They will face another team they should beat without Draymond Green in the 14-32 Houston Rockets. As we saw on Thursday, though, the Dubs actually have to execute and take care of business.
