Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso was celebrating his 27th birthday on Sunday, and apparently, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry did not get the memo. Either that or Steph just wanted to give Alex a birthday gift to remember early in Sunday's tilt between the Dubs and the Lakers.

Caruso was late in contesting Curry's three-point attempt, and it resulted in a forgettable play for the birthday boy (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

C'mon Steph, why'd you have to do Caruso dirty on his birthday? Then again, that's exactly what you get when you give Curry even just the slightest of room to operate.

The Warriors were down 15 prior to Curry's four-point effort, and these are exactly the types of momentum-swinging plays the former back-to-back MVP has been known for throughout his career. Unfortunately, it was the Lakers who went on a run to end the first period, increasing their lead to 20 points at the end of the first.

As for almost-All-Star Alex Caruso, this was a hard lesson to learn on his birthday. Curry took him to school on this occasion and this should serve as a stern reminder for the Lakers guard to always, always be on his toes whenever he's guarding Steph.
