Stephen Curry knows that the league is still out to get the Golden State Warriors. After a tough blowout loss at the hands of the defending champions the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, Curry admits that he still feels the bitterness from teams after Golden State's dominance in the league over the past five years.

“Teams still want to beat us and beat us bad,” Curry reflects after their 117-91 defeat against LA (via Connor Letourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle). “They still have a lot of memories from the last five years.”

The Warriors have been one of the more successful franchises in the NBA over the past decade. Curry, alongside Klay Thomson and Draymond Green, was able to bring home three rings to the Bay Area since 2015. This was of course at the expense of LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers. Unfortunately, their success dropped faster than Bitcoin loses its value on a bad day.

After winning the 2018 NBA title with former Warrior Kevin Durant leading the way, the golden days of the Warriors quickly faded away. They lost both Durant and Thompson to serious injuries against the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals which they ultimately lost in six games. From there, things went from bad to worse as they ended the next season with the worst record in the league.

Since then, Curry and the rest of the Warriors have been aiming at redemption. Amid injuries and a revamped rotation, the former champions have so far climbed all the way to the 8th spot of the West with Curry back playing at an MVP-level. Though they know that teams like LeBron James and the Lakers are out for blood, they have to constantly put their head down and get some reps in to try and bring the Warriors back to their winning ways.
