Stephen Curry and ankle are words Golden State Warriors fans always find troubling to hear mentioned in the same sentence. That said, the two-time league MVP was quick to dispel any concerns with regards to his health status after being seen limping to the bench during a timeout late in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Speaking with the media following the Warriors’ 122-105 victory over San Antonio, Curry said that he is “fine”, implying that there is nothing to be overly concerned about him, per Anthony Slate of The Athletic and Michael Gallagher of NBC.

Curry played 29 minutes against the Spurs, and scored only 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field. That’s way fewer than his season average of 27.2 points per game on 53.8 field goal shooting percentage, but he did not have to pump out that many points with several of his teammates stepping up. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 25 points, while Draymond Green had 17 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds. Also worth noting was Kevin Durant, who only had 10 points.

It’s understandable why fans and the media tend to sound the alarm easily when it comes to the status of Curry’s ankles. Curry’s ankle troubles have been well-documented, and he even missed 11 games last December after sustaining a nasty ankle injury against the New Orleans Pelicans on Dec. 4.

The Warriors will get a visit from the Phoenix Suns this Monday, but there are no clear indications that Stephen Curry would miss that game. Golden State only has two games on schedule next week.
