Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is targeting a return to the court for Friday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, according to Ramona Shelburne and Chris Haynes of ESPN. He will have his right ankle re-evaluated today and likely get the nod to start if his recovery shows no setbacks or risk of re-injury.

The Warriors will have three full days of rest after a Monday night loss to the San Antonio Spurs, where they also lost Draymond Green for the second half of the game with a pelvic contusion.

Curry has missed the team's last six games with a sprained right ankle, playing only two minutes against the Spurs on Mar. 8, after stepping on Dejounte Murray's shoe and rolling his surgically-repaired ankle.

His potential return comes at the heels of a flourishing Quinn Cook, a G League product who has put up 25, 28, and a 20-point game in his last three outings as the starting point guard of the team in Curry's absence.

The Warriors have clearly lacked the firepower and were limited to their lowest offensive output of the season, scoring only 75 points against the Spurs with no All-Stars on the floor other than LaMarcus Aldridge, who torched the Warriors' B-Team for 33 points.

Curry's return would come at a pivotal time, as Golden State has dropped four out of the last six games, trying to survive without 73 points of offense on the court, as they hope to get everyone back healthy before the start of the postseason.

Kevin Durant is still out for another week, while Klay Thompson is set to be re-evaluated on Thursday for a fracture in his right thumb.
