Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry could be back as soon as Sunday.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the former two-time MVP will attend practice and a “firm decision'”will be made regarding his potential return. The Warriors take on the Washington Wizards on Sunday night.

“Sounds like a firm decision on Steph Curry’s status for Sunday should come tomorrow. Warriors practice at home before traveling to Phoenix. Kerr says he’ll have a meeting with Curry, Myers and Celebrini.”

Marc J. Spears of ESPN also had a similar report:

“Warriors coach Steve Kerr says they will have a “kinda” practice day tomorrow where the powers will talk to Stephen Curry (Hand) about what’s next. Curry could return to action as early as Sunday against Washington.

Curry has played in just four games this season due to suffering a broken second metacarpal in his left hand. The injury occurred while Curry was attempting to take a charge from the Phoenix Suns' Aron Baynes. Baynes fell on the Warriors guard's hand, which led to his injury.

Head coach Steve Kerr remarked that although Mar. 1 has been considered the target date for his point guard's return, he warns that Curry has scrimmaged just twice.

“He's only scrimmaged twice,” Kerr said. “In fact, I think he needs more. We'll see how it all plays out. … Nothing's official. He'll play when he's ready.”

“That (Sunday return) date has been something that's for sure on Steph's mind,” Kerr continued. “That's when he wants to play, and he will when we all feel he's ready to go. I think he needs some more scrimmage time. We don't have much of an opportunity to do that given all of the games.”

We'll keep you updated regarding Curry's return as soon as the Warriors make the official decision.
