The Golden State Warriors are fighting for their playoff lives in the Western Conference with a record of 32-32 heading into tonight’s action (currently good for the 9th seed).

While Stephen Curry is putting up MVP-level numbers for the team, his squad is not quite up to the same levels as the dynastic Warriors from years past. However, this play against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night might’ve given Warriors fans – and NBA fans – flashbacks to the glory days of the franchise:

As you can see, this lightning-quick passing typified the “beautiful game” style of ball movement that is Warriors head coach Steve Kerr’s preference.

The major highlight is, not surprisingly, Stephen Curry’s touch pass to the corner where Juan Toscano-Anderson eagerly awaits a wide-open triple.

While Curry’s finagling in traffic might be the spiciest move in this sequence, let’s not discount Draymond Green’s quite impressive, leg-kick (Steven Adams beware) bounce pass that leads to Curry’s touch to Toscano-Anderson.

Toscano-Anderson is seeing major minutes this year as a nearly 20-minute per game rotation player on the wing for the Warriors, and he’s filling in capably with an impressive 41.5 percent three-point shooting clip coupled with a sky-high 67.6 true shooting percentage. A new Splash Brother perhaps?

Of course, the Warriors have been sorely missing Curry’s missing-in-action Splash sibling Klay Thompson for the entirety of the 2020-21 season as he suffered a torn Achilles after a torn ACL the season before.

Still, his shooting stroke will likely be unaffected, so the Warriors will likely be looking to return to the peaks of performance down the line.
