After sitting out Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson could see a slight increase in his minutes on Sunday, according to Steve Kerr.

Thompson was sidelined in their showdown with the Bulls as part of the Warriors' system to slowly ease him back and get him to game shape. He is not yet ready to play in back-to-back contests, and after the Dubs played him on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks, Thompson naturally had to sit one out.

However, the Warriors are also doing the best they can to get him in playing condition as quick as possible and play him more minutes alongside Stephen Curry, which is why Kerr plans to ramp up his minutes when they return to action on Sunday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“I think the plan is to bump him up a little bit on Sunday. Not too much. A few minutes. Then we'll go from there,” Kerr said of Thompson, per 95.7 The Game.

In the three games Klay Thompson has played since returning to action against the Cleveland Cavaliers last week, he has averaged exactly 20 minutes per contest. Based on what Steve Kerr said, Warriors fans can probably expect him to suit up for an additional four to five minutes the next time he's out.

Of course the hope is for Thompson to play his usual 30-plus minutes a night with Stephen Curry, but the Warriors know they have to be patient since Klay is coming back from injury after two years of recovery and rehab.
