Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry will make his postseason debut tonight for Game 2 of the series against the New Orleans Pelicans, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Curry missed the last 10 games of the regular season and the first six games of the postseason with a Grade 2 MCL sprain after JaVale McGee fell into his knee, causing his extended absence.

The two-time MVP has missed nearly six weeks, constant with the suggested timeline for recovery from this sort of injury. Curry had suffered a similar ailment during the 2016 playoffs, though it was a Grade 1 variation; allowing him to come back after just 15 days.

The Warriors could have had him play in Game 1 to start the series after being re-evaluated by the team on Friday, but chose to err in the side of caution, giving him a few extra days of rest before deploying him.

Curry said he would have been under a minutes restriction had he played in Game 1, but coach Steve Kerr noted on Monday that he won't face a playing time limitation, rather playing it by feel and closely monitoring his level of stamina throughout the game.

Teammate Draymond Green said “it’s always an emotional boost” when someone of his caliber returns to the lineup, according to Logan Murdock of the San Jose Mercury News.

The Warriors had no problems handling the Pelicans in Game 1, sitting out their starters for most of the fourth quarter, riding a significant advantage until the end of regulation, booking a 123-101 win to remain undefeated at home in the last two postseasons.
