The Golden State Warriors' multiple future Hall of Famers were clearly the driving force behind their dynastic run in the 2010s. But you can't discount the excellent job done by their coaching staff to maximize their roster year in, and year out.

Stephen Curry knows this perfectly. As someone whose training regiment and on-court adjustments became a huge part of his success, the Warriors star acknowledges how valuable the men with clipboards are. That's why he just had to give a shoutout to former Dubs assistant Willie Green for landing his first NBA head coaching gig with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Willie Green spent three seasons with the Warriors. He was a vital part of Steve Kerr's coaching staff that helped win two titles from 2016-2019. He then spent the last two years with the Phoenix Suns, who themselves have turned into a winning situation.

“It’s a blessing and an honor to get this opportunity in a special place like New Orleans. I look forward to getting to work and immersing myself and my family into the local community,” said Green after news became official.

Now Willie Green faces a new challenge. The New Orleans Pelicans have a bright young star in Zion Williamson and a roster full of potential. If his success during his Warriors and Suns stints are any indication, the Pels are in for a big year.
