The Golden State Warriors have been without their two-time MVP in Stephen Curry for the past five games which have made things a bit challenging for Dub Nation.

In those past five games that Curry sat out due to a bruised tailbone, the Warriors have lost four straight and continue to stay outside the West's very tight playoff picture which has obviously been troublesome for head coach Steve Kerr.

“When Steph is on the floor, we just have confidence and swagger that's missing when he's not,” Kerr said (via NBC Sports). “And that helps our defense. If you go back over the last eight or nine games, we've had a lot of stuff. Whether it's injuries, [COVID-19] protocol … [these] are all reasons — not excuses, they're just reasons — that we've struggled. But nobody really cares. It's just what it is. Every team's dealing with all kinds of adversity this year,”

Curry has been Golden State's leader for the past decade and he has again taken it upon himself to carry the load for the squad this season. Since his absence, the team has been missing almost 30 points and seven assists from the two-time MVP.

Kerr adds, “So this is a moment where we gotta sit back and take stock, and understand what's next. And that's what today was about, and as I said, we have a great opportunity to improve our defense and get back to playing at a much higher level and win some games.”

What's next for Kerr and the Warriors is hosting the visiting Chicago Bulls on Tuesday. With Curry being able to practice in full on Sunday, the team is hoping that they'll have their MVP back and healthy in time for tip-off.
