The Golden State Warriors missed an opportunity to sweep the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Final Tuesday night, losing 119-109. However, that final score was not indicative of how dominant the Mavs were for much of the game. Yet, the Golden State bench cut a 29-point deficit all the way down to eight points in the fourth quarter. Despite not being able to pull off the incredible comeback, it still offers a bit of foreshadowing that should worry NBA fans around the league.

Former Warriors' championship center, Festus Ezeli, pointed this out.

“If I'm another NBA GM looking at the Warriors young guys coming in the game and cutting a 29 pt lead to 8, you have to be worried knowing that this team is gonna keep reshuffling for years and years to come,” Ezeli posted on social media.

Of all of the young players for Golden State, the one that truly has stood out this year has been Jordan Poole. Poole has emerged as a legit scoring threat that can drop 30 almost any night. But it goes beyond just the Warriors backup guard.

Jonathan Kuminga has shown flashes this year that he could be a future star in this league. If you ask Draymond Green, the sky is the limit for Kuminga. Kevon Looney is also a valuable big man off the bench and is only 26 years old.

But for all of the talk of the ‘splash brothers' and how deadly the Warriors offense is. Their defense has been the most consistent reason for their almost decade of dominance. Gary Payton II might be the best defender on the team. He broke his elbow and is out the rest of the playoffs but will obviously be back next year as well.

The future could be very, very bright for Golden State.
