Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry did not offer the usual spiel of keeping things positive after yet another disappointing loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

In the aftermath of their 117-111 defeat at State Farm Arena, the two-time NBA MVP had a blunt message to his teammates, per Nick Freidell of ESPN.

“I hope it stings. I hope it's uncomfortable. I hope it motivates you to keep grinding. I hope nobody is content just being in this middle-of-the-road situation. We're going to find out how we respond down the stretch of the season. See what we're made of.”

It was the same old story for Curry and the Warriors versus the Hawks. The 33-year-old megastar returned from a one-game absence and dazzled with a game-best 37 points on 12-of-23 shooting from the floor, along with five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 37 minutes.

But even having Curry back didn't help the Warriors get the win, as the Hawks collectively played better to seal the victory. Danilo Gallinari led the way for the home team with 25 points, while Clint Capela added a monstrous double-double of 24 points and 18 boards.

The Warriors have now lost their last three games and have gone 3-7 in their last 10 outings. This latest skid doesn't bode well for their postseason chances as the Memphis Grizzlies and the San Antonio Spurs have leapfrogged over them for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

While Stephen Curry is not the type to point fingers when things go wrong, it's nice to see him hold his teammates accountable. Some pundits are suggesting that the Warriors should just tank and bounce back next season, but looks like Curry is not ready to wave the white flag just yet.
