When the COVID-19 vaccine was made available, things started to seem normal in the NBA again. That's until the most recent rise of COVID-19 cases hit teams–including the Golden State Warriors–all across the league.

On Friday morning, Warriors guard Jordan Poole entered the NBA's health and safety protocols. It caused him to miss their game against the Boston Celtics. After seeing almost every other team inconvenienced by the virus, it finally caught up to the number one team in the NBA.

“We're not invincible. The odds are likely that you'll be affected at some point…It's just a matter of making the right decisions, having the right protocols in response to when it happens, and making sure we're healthy first and foremost,” Stephen Curry told ClutchPoints on the recent COVID-19 outbreak in the NBA.

It's a matter that the team is taking very seriously. The Warriors gave no other updates about plans moving forward, but changes are likely approaching. In the meantime, it's up to everyone individually to keep themselves safe.

In the absence of Poole, the Dubs squeezed out their 24th victory against the Celtics. The win gives them a league-best 24-5 record. Curry fouled out but still registered 30 points to lead all scorers. Andrew Wiggins continued his hot play and added 27 of his own.

Saturday, the Warriors will complete their road trip when they face the Toronto Raptors. If they win, it will give them a 4-1 record on their five games away from home. Then Stephen Curry will head home and see the Bay Area fans for the first time since setting his new 3-point record.
