Golden State Warriors All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell's name is once again in trade rumors and head coach Steve Kerr knows it can be tough.

Because the Warriors have the worst record in the NBA, Russell is going to be talked about behind the scenes by executives. He signed a four-year, $117 million contract with the Warriors as part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Brooklyn Nets involving Kevin Durant.

Kerr admits one of the reasons Russell is being brought up in trade rumors is because this season has been nowhere close to what the lefty thought it was going to be when he committed to Golden State:

Russell is averaging 22.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 14 games with the Warriors. The All-Star is shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 73.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Minnesota Timberwolves remain interested in acquiring Russell from the Warriors despite what transpired this past summer, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic. Russell had an agreement with the Warriors before getting on a helicopter with the Timberwolves contingent. That made for “an awkward goodbye on the tarmac,” one source told Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

We'll see if Russell is indeed traded again. He's already been traded twice in his young career.
