Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is finding no issues with regards to the NBA’s decision to hand Shaun Livingston a one-game suspension for bumping heads with referee Courtney Kirkland during Sunday’s road game against the Miami Heat while arguing a missed call.

Speaking with reporters before the Warriors face the New Orleans Pelicans Monday, Kerr expressed his agreement with the punishment served to Livingston and Kirkland, who was also handed a one-week suspension for his involvement in the incident, per Anthony Slate of The Athletic.

“I thought the league handled it well.I think it was the right decision. It seemed pretty obvious there was some contact and both the official and the player were a part of it, and they are both being reprimanded. It was the right choice.”

If anything, Shaun Livingston will serve his suspension Monday against the Pelicans, which came at a very convenient time since the 32-year-old guard was previously scheduled to sit out for rest purposes.

Livingston, however, is docked with a $2,000 fine per Spotrac, a hefty amount if you consider that the Warriors' backup guard could’ve just bought a punching bag and stuck a picture of Kirkland on it.

Shaun Livingston could return to action this coming Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets.
