Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr admitted that the schedule seemed to have worked into their favor after winning in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday night.

The Warriors ran away with a 116-94 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at the Oracle Arena. Following their big win, Kerr said that his team might have benefited from the schedule. The Warriors were the more aggressive team, thanks to the rest they got before the series against the Trail Blazers started.

The Warriors dispatched the Rockets on Friday night, which gave them the advantage because the Trail Blazers' series against the Nuggets went the distance. Portland won against the Nuggets on Sunday night. And just two days after advancing to the conference finals, they had to face the well-rested defending champions.

Portland managed to stay within striking distance for three quarters. However, the Warriors pulled away in the fourth quarter en route to the 22-point victory to take a 1-0 lead in the 2019 Western Conference Finals.

Steph Curry led the Warriors with 36 points on 12-for-23 shooting, including a 9-for-15 clip from beyond the arc. Klay Thompson finished with 26 points on top of three assists, three steals, and two blocks. Draymond Green had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five assists, three blocks, and two steals.
