Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr didn't mince words when addressing his team's performance in their humbling 128-95 loss to the Boston Celtics.

The Warriors allowed the Celtics to open the game with an 11-0 run, and the home team was never able to recover from that. The Dubs even found themselves trailing by as much as 35 points in a battle they were widely expected to win considering that Boston has only won five of their previous six games before the meeting.

In his post-game presser, Kerr admitted that his team lacked the passion and intensity and showed no real desire to win, even after going behind early. He also pointed out that it was “embarrassing” after seeing his players provide little effort from both ends of the floor.

Only three players scored in double figures for Golden State, led by Stephen Curry who ended up with 23 points. Kevin Durant had 18 markers, but he was horrendous throughout and finished 5-of-16 from the field.

Moreover, although DeMarcus Cousins had a near double-double of 10 points and nine boards, he was a liability on the defensive end. The Celtics targeted him on the pick-and-roll, and it paid off big time. In fact, the All-Star big even got a frustration technical late in the game for his offensive foul on Aron Baynes.

Steve Kerr has every right to criticize his team, especially after such a disastrous game. With the playoffs nearing, the Warriors can't afford to lose, much more get blown out by a title contender at Oracle Arena.

The Bay Area squad is up against the second-seeded Denver Nuggets next, and Kerr will surely hope his team won't collapse like they did against the Cs.
