For the first time in his tenure with the Golden State Warriors, head coach Steve Kerr is coaching a losing team, literally.

The Warriors entered Friday with a record of 2-6. Star point guard Stephen Curry is out for at least four months with a broken left hand, which means the Dubs are likely going to miss the playoffs for the first time in the Kerr era.

Kerr, who has been a winner his whole life — both as a player and coach — says he “can't stand losing.”

“I can't stand losing,” Kerr admitted to Logan Murdock of NBC Sports Bay Area. “I'm also a realist and I understand the job at hand. Organizationally, we're trying to bring this young group ahead, forward, so that we can really build the depth of our roster and we know eventually Steph and Klay and Draymond are gonna be back.”

Kerr and the Warriors basically see the writing on the wall. This will be a development season for the youngsters on the roster while Curry rehabs his hand. Curry is expected to miss at least four months after having surgery on his broken left hand.

By the time Curry is 100 percent, the Dubs are probably going to be way back in the playoff standings.

However, Kerr is going to continue to coach his guys hard and teach them the right habits.
