Despite the fact that the last season could not have ended in a more terrible fashion for the Golden State Warriors, there is definitely still a lot to look forward to in the coming year.

For one, head coach Steve Kerr is already envisioning his new lineup of death, which will include the trio of Stephen Curry, newcomer D'Angelo Russell, and Klay Thompson, once he returns from his ACL injury:

“I think he’s going to be great,” Kerr said of Russell when asked if he thinks the former Brooklyn Nets superstar will be able to fit in well with his new team, via Warriors.com. “First, just having a guy who can get you 20 points a night — especially with Klay out for most of the regular season — that’s a huge luxury. The biggest thing will be playing on and off the ball. D’Angelo is a great pick-and-roll player, obviously so is Steph, they’re going to both start in the backcourt together. When Klay comes back, I would imagine all three of them would start… I don’t think we’ll have a problem.”

Last season, Russell put up 21.1 points (on 43.4 percent shooting), 3.9 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 1.2 steals in 30.2 minutes per game for the Brooklyn Nets, becoming an All-Star in the process. He also drained 2.9 3-pointers per ballgame on a 36.9 percent clip, so he shouldn't have any problems coming in as a potential third Splash Brother.

Russell's numbers will likely take a dip in the coming season now that he will be surrounded with other high-caliber superstars. Nonetheless, as Kerr implied, the team intends to fully utilize the 23-year-old in what should still be one of the best offensive lineups in the league moving forward.
