Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave a simple, short answer when asked if he thinks this season will be the last year the team's core plays together.

Kerr and the Warriors have won back-to-back championships and three of the last four Finals, but some believe money will prevent the franchise from keeping Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green together.

Kerr, however, doesn't see that being an issue.

Over the summer, Warriors general manager Bob Myers said he was confident the organization will be able to afford a roster and luxury tax bill that hits $300 million in the 2019-20 season. The Warriors will open their new arena in San Francisco that season, which will surely bring in more revenue to the franchise.

Durant re-signed with Golden State this summer on a one-plus-one deal, meaning he can become an unrestricted free agent again next offseason if he declines his 2019-20 player-option. Thompson will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019, while Green will enter the open market in 2020. There's been speculation Durant could leave the Warriors after this season if he wins his third-straight championship.

Curry signed a supermax extension with the Warriors in 2017 and is under contract until 2022. Steve Kerr believes it is not inconceivable that Thompson and Green could take less money to stay with the Warriors. As for Durant, no one really knows what he's going to do. He could sign another one-plus-one deal with Golden State, or leave The Bay Area and take on a new challenge elsewhere.

Steve Kerr is going to do his best to keep the team's focus on this season, but one thing is certain: Durant's free agency next summer will be a frequent talking point throughout the year. Barring something unforeseen, though, Golden State is likely going to win the title again this season.
