Los Angeles, CA – The 2021-22 NBA season is officially underway and the Golden State Warriors start their season against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. It's a game featuring a ton of All-Stars and some of these veterans still play at a high level. One of those players is former Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr spoke to the media about Green before their opening game on Tuesday night.

“He's (Draymond Green) been great in practice. He was great in the Portland game the other night. I'm excited for Draymond. I think he's going to have a great season,” said Kerr.

Green is entering his 10th season. At 31 years old, he's showing he still has some good years left in the tank. Last season, he averaged 7.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and a career-high 8.9 assists. Green was fourth in the NBA in assists and he could produce even more this campaign.

The additional perimeter shooters the Warriors acquired in the offseason will complement Green perfectly. None of the other teams could shoot the ball quite like Stephen Curry and company. That should result in a ton of assists for Green and his teammates.

Last season, the Warriors led the NBA in assists. In the preseason, they showed it's possible to repeat. Draymond Green will be the general who keeps the offense working and firing on all cylinders. It's the reason Kerr is excited, and it's the reason the All-Star forward will have a great season.
