After dominating the past five seasons, the Golden State Warriors now find themselves near the bottom of the league standings.

Despite the pile-up of losses with more expected to come throughout the season, head coach Steve Kerr admitted that he is enjoying developing the Warriors young players, per Shaun Powell of NBA.com. Likewise, Kerr also likes having the opportunity to focus on each player's individual development.

“I'm actually really enjoying this season,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “And that may sound strange.”

“I enjoy the teaching part of it,” he said. “We’ve got great young guys, eager to learn, competing every night. It’s a totally different set of circumstances but for me as a coach I’m taking a lot of satisfaction out of the details of coaching and the individual attention I have to give to young players. These young guys are fantastic. They are eager to learn. They are playing so hard. They are getting better.

Definitely, there are going to be a lot of bumps and bruises for the Warriors this season. In fact, there already are with Stephen Curry going down with a fractured hand.

Nevertheless, Curry's injury might actually the best thing to happen to this team. His injury has allowed the Warriors to put their focus this season on player development with all the young guys on their roster.

The Warriors have found the gem of the draft in Eric Paschall, the 41st overall pick in the 2019 draft. Moreover, players like Ky Bowman, Glenn Robinson III and Jordan Poole have gotten a ton of opportunity to get more reps on the floor.

Indeed, this is a season of hibernation for the once NBA giants. As much as this is already a losing season for them, there is still a lot of development happening in the Warriors lab.
