Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is expecting his players to adjust to the calls made by the referees as the postseason approaches, as featured star Kevin Durant hit the showers early after being ejected in the third quarter of a primetime Western Conference matchup against the Denver Nuggets.

Kerr noted he had no problem with referee Zach Zarba, who whistled Durant for two quick techs, yet wasn't concerned with how his team would handle the officials in the playoffs, expecting an adjustment from his players:

“The officials do a great job. It's a really brutally difficult job in this league. I think we can do better as far as keeping our poise, myself included,” said Kerr. “You go into each game, you're excited and you're going to yell at the refs — both teams are — but you got to keep your poise throughout and we'll have to do a better job in the postseason.”

Durant and frontcourt teammate Draymond Green now stand at 15 technicals each, one away from a one-game suspension with only five games left in the season.

While both players are largely expected to get at least one game of rest before the playoffs, it could prove costly if they can't manage their emotions in time for the playoffs.
